It was literally a last minute decision for me to make the trek out to Chicago for Wekfest. After getting nagged at by my fellow peers, I bit the bullet and took off from my day job and hopped in a open seat in the Unique Auto Squad/ New Image Motorsports caravan from New Jersey to Chicago. 16 hours later and a handfull of 5 hour energy drinks, the cars finally made it. With no time to spare, the cars got cleaned up and prepped for the show the following day. Luckily for everyone, the event took place indoors. During roll-in, I watched everyone outside cleaning their cars just to have a monsoon roll through and undo everything they’ve been working so hard on, but once inside the convention center, you can see smiles across everyones faces. The quality of cars there were top notch. I always say, when building cars, it’s always about the attention to details that set you apart from everyone else and these guys really made the best effort they can. It’s not odd on the west coast to have shows and meets like JTuned, Niesi , Eibach and Chinatown showoff, just to name a few, which display some of the hottest and cleanest rides in the scene. Out here in the northeast, you’re more likely to see only a hand full of the same quality cars at the average car show and meet here. Canibeat decided to mix it up a bit with their First Class Fitment show.
The venue they chose was at a little bit of a different location that we normally go to. A airport hanger in Princeton, NJ hosted the 75 hand picked cars for the show where judging was based on wheel fitment and stance of the car. Crazy offset wheels, stretch tires and rolled fenders were a common theme and the sound of pressurized air being released was not far behind with cars rolling on air bags to get that extra low stance.

Having experienced the thick and thin of modifying your ride it seems like the “in” thing these days is to make sure your wheels are, “flush.” So what is flush? Look at the image above, flush simply means that your wheel/tires are lined up with the body of the car. Depending on the style of wheel and or preference being flush means having some radical offset on the wheel and also stretching out the tire. Check out the guys at Hella Flush for more photos.
