Wow where do I begin… All I can say is this has got to be the craziest Honda Day event so far to date. Raceway Park was jam packed with Honda loving spectators, fastest drag racers and top quality show cars on the east coast. There were tons of giveaways all throughout the day including one lucky winner that went home with the Project Honda Day grand prize hooked up EK Hatch. For more photos of the event Click Here

Knowing some of the people I know, I was lucky enough to get invited out to this meet. This isn’t your average meet at your local Best Buy. These guys have some of the illest rides with some of the rarest JDM parts on the East Coast. Sadly, I was only able to stay for a short time as I know more cars had shown up after I had left.

Is it me or did it feel like 2002? For those of you who missed out, it truly felt like we were back in time. Remember those days of waking up early all excited to get some drag racing in. For even the more die-hard racers like myself, I would take the trek out the night before to make sure I was the first in line. Well, it felt just like that last sunday at Honda Day. We arrived at the track to find out people have been camping out from the day before. 6am felt like 10am with the amount of people coming in eager to setup and prep their cars. Highlights of the event include the Yosolo/1320 Performance All Motor, Competition Clutch Unlimited FWD, car show and the infamous Project Honda give away. More after the jump!

Now this was one of my favorites at the car show.  A really clean RSX with a lot of JDM goodies. Check out that front bumper, a legit backyard special bumper! I heard the car driving around it sounded mean.

Judging from the stands we still have a huge Honda fan base still out there today. Good to know that the Honda scene is staying alive!

With the new k-series engine platform companies such as Drive Shaft Shop, Hybrid Racing, etc. have been able to put together parts and kits to place a k-series into any Honda chassis platform. It’s still pricey but well worth it.

Check out those wheels! CCW an american wheel company that produces wheels for corvettes and other domestics cars seemed to hop on the band wagon to create a great multi-piece wheel.

It’s all about the “Wire Tuck” . Here was have NRG Racing still proving that the b-series motors can still put down the power!

Honda Day isn’t Honda Day without it’s lifestyle component. DJAY JUNG from The Elite Camp is tearing up the turntables while the the b-boys do their thing!

Atco Raceway was packed as you can see! The crowd stayed this big through out the day by the stage while MC Slick through out a wide-array of free stuff courtesy of the vendors that were present.

The Makoa Scooters crew even represented by bringing out their Honda Rucks! Judging from this picture, this is not your typical Honda Ruckus.

Here we have Timmy Grey from TGR, seems like he’s getting interviewed by one of his sponsors. Looking forward to this!

Here we have the car that everyone wanted and unfortunately only one could take it home. Now what was interesting about this give away was that 10 at random people were chosen and then they had to pick a key that would hopefully start this Certified Racing K-series swapped Honda Civic EG. After the 10 people were picked the lined up in the order that they were called to go into the car and start her up. The first person to get in the car to start up was the winner. The crowd was AMAZED! Well, congrats to the winner!

Honda Day Final Results

Just to mix things up again, this week we have a Honda Ruckus. Okay, its not flush I know, but it does have… hella offset?!? I just wanted an excuse to blog about a Ruckus haha. Anyways, we all know that offset is everything and when it comes to running a fatty tire on a Ruckus, well you have to offset Everything to make it work. I caught this sweet Ruckus at meet/cruise up in the Bay last year and it’s one sweet ride. After going to this meet, I ended up purchasing one of my own after seeing how much fun they are.

Not a bad useless skill to have. I have no idea why I found this entertaining.

I saw this EG hatch at one of the many shows that I attend and the paint just jumped out at me. Sadly these photos don’t do the midori greenish pearl paint job any justice but they do show off the paint matched wheels sitting nice and flush.

While most of the popular aftermarket manufacturers in Japan are welcoming the hybrid craze with open arms, Spoon Sports has been quiet as of late. This can mostly be attributed to the fact that Spoon focuses and specializes with the Honda platform, and quite honestly, Honda hasn’t had an attractive enough hybrid platform in the recent years.  But this is all about to change, with the CR-Z gaining a lot of momentum as the new “hot-hatch” appealing to passionate Honda aficionados worldwide. New season means new bikes, new livery, new excitement. Thats what were unveiled when MotoGP teams touchdown at Sepang International Circuit last February. They came to test their new machine ahead of 2010 season that will kick off in April.

Superstar Valentino Rossi is in dominating form, setting the bechmark for other riders with fastest time in each of last month 4 days of testing.

He even managed to break Sepang lap time record for a MotoGP bike, clocking 2min 0.271sec, 0.247sec faster than the previous record he set back in October’s Malaysian Grand Prix.

Here we see Rossi and teammate Jorge Lorenzo unveiling their new bikes of Team Fiat Yamaha ahead of the test session.

At the end of the test days Team Marlboro Ducati looks to be the strongest challenger for Team Fiat Yamaha, with riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden finished 2nd and 3rd on the time sheet.

Stoner consistent riding put him 2nd in all test sessions, just letting Rossi knows he’s not far behind.

American Nicky Hayden had to endure some early mechanical problem, but managed to overcome the setback to set the 3rd best times on the last day of testing.
