First Class Fitment ’11

Photos By: Brian Chin and Somya Siva

Canibeat presented their 2nd annual First Class Fitment show this past weekend. Compared to last year, it seemed as though the show had doubled in size along with the spectators(as if it wasn’t already hard enough to take photos). Dj’s kept the music going all day long, catered food kept our belly’s full and some RC drifting added a little action to the show. Congrats to the winners of the awesome custom trophies made with the help of CCW.

Fall Nationals ’11

Photos By: Brian Chin

It wouldn’t be a Raceway Park Fall Nationals Event if it didn’t have crazy weather, fast cars, tons of break downs, hot cars and scantily clad women on stage dancing around. It was great to see Gary Gardella back on the drag strip racing again but personally, I was quite upset that Chris Rado wasn’t able to make it out to the event to have their grudge match. It’s never a dull moment at Raceway Park events and what a way to close out the season. I can’t wait until next years Spring Nationals to see how this scene continually progresses. Enjoy the photos!

FORMULA D Round 4 – The Gauntlet Part 2

Photos By: Brian Chin

The Gauntlet at Wall Speedway in New Jersey is one of the most brutal tracks on the Formula D circuit that the drivers face year to year. With the steep banking turns and harsh transitions from bank to flat really takes its tolls on both the cars and the drivers. The turn 1 guard rail seem to have collected more casualties this year more then any other even taking out #1 qualifier Ryan Tuerck on his home track.

Conrad Grunewald went on to take top position on the podium with points leader Justin Pawlack taking 2nd and teammate Daijiro Yoshihara in 3rd staying right behind Justin in the points count.

Spring Nationals

This past weekend was Raceway Park’s 15th Annual Sport Compact Spring Nationals. Big crowds, fast cars, beautiful ladies and musical concert pretty much sums up the event. Click on the photos above to jump to the gallery to see what went down on this crazy weekend. Thanks OGS and all the supported the event!

Honda Day Part 1 – Atco

Photos By: Brian Chin & Somya Siva

Honda Day at Atco Raceway is one of the most anticipated events of the year. This event grows larger every year and if you didn’t come early for this one, then you were probably left outside on the streets as the venue reached maximum capacity halfway into the day. If you were one of the people that camped out overnight or arrived before the sun came up, then I hope you enjoyed the event as much as I did. First walking into the venue, you come across the car show. The lot was filled with a variety of cars from wild show cars with insane amounts of body conversions to the simple and clean rides of JDM styling. The further into the venue you go, you reach vendor row where you can pick up the latest parts and accessories from VRaceworks, MB Racing and Project JDM. After registering for the Honda Day giveaway car, Honda Day swag was available for purchase and lets not forget, EatSleepRace was on point with all your original gearhead apparel. As you continue walking along, you come across the pits where the drag racers are prepping their cars for a pass down the 1320. Even though there were quite a few break downs throughout the day, there was still plenty of good racing action especially the K tuned all motor finals as Tim Grey and Jake Gavio battled in the closest race I’ve ever seen as they ran identical times and mph but Jake just barely got to the finish line first. In the middle of all this craziness was the Honda Day stage. Elite Camp’s DJ Mpos and DJ Jay Jung along with DJ L Nino kept the beats bumpin all day long while MC Slick and Frankie Five kept the crowd entertained with contest and giveaways of Ipods, tee shirts, plate frames and to top it off, a free car at the end of the day that one lucky spectator gets to take home. Thanks to OGS for putting on such a great event. I can only imagine how insane Honda Day at Englishtown will be.

Go Kart Battle @ Pole Position

Photos By: Brian Chin

The off season in the northeast can be pretty chilling. Sub freezing temps and digging out 3 feet of snow can make the simplest of gatherings more work then Ronnie and Sammie’s relationship on Jersey Shore. OGS put together a karting battle at Pole Position in Jersey City, NJ to get a little friendly competition going to get everyone ready for the upcoming season. Go-karts, food and free swag, what more can you ask for. Thanks to all the supporters and sponsors and Javier for putting this together.
