SEMA 2011

Photos By: Brian Chin

That time of year just passed us by. Every car builders dream and nightmare at the same time. Countless hours are spent on builds that always seem to get finished as the car is being loaded on a trailer or in one case I heard, parts delivered to the convention center and installed in the parking lot right before roll-in. As always, the convention center was packed full of cars and vendors with huge displays. After walking around for 4 days, I still don’t think I really got to see everything but I definitely tried. Anyways, check out the photos and I hope you enjoy them.

RPM S2000

Photos by: Kevin Choi

Over the summer, Kevin had the chance to snap some photos of Aaron Mabe’s S2000. Such a clean and subtle setup on this car, you’d be surprised how long of a mod list this car has. But don’t get it twisted, Aaron has more plans in the works. What you may ask? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Free State Corvette Club Weekend

Paul was down in OC Maryland and stumbled upon this gathering of corvettes on the boardwalk and snapped a few photos. Check the gallery out above and click on the shot below to check out a panorama shot of the event.

First Class Fitment ’11

Photos By: Brian Chin and Somya Siva

Canibeat presented their 2nd annual First Class Fitment show this past weekend. Compared to last year, it seemed as though the show had doubled in size along with the spectators(as if it wasn’t already hard enough to take photos). Dj’s kept the music going all day long, catered food kept our belly’s full and some RC drifting added a little action to the show. Congrats to the winners of the awesome custom trophies made with the help of CCW.

Fall Nationals ’11

Photos By: Brian Chin

It wouldn’t be a Raceway Park Fall Nationals Event if it didn’t have crazy weather, fast cars, tons of break downs, hot cars and scantily clad women on stage dancing around. It was great to see Gary Gardella back on the drag strip racing again but personally, I was quite upset that Chris Rado wasn’t able to make it out to the event to have their grudge match. It’s never a dull moment at Raceway Park events and what a way to close out the season. I can’t wait until next years Spring Nationals to see how this scene continually progresses. Enjoy the photos!

Old School Showdown

Sunday at Raceway Park’s Fall Nationals, Shift Gear hosted the 1st Annual Old School Import Showdown. It was exciting to see some of these classic cars come out for the event. Mild to wildly modified, they were all done so cleanly and most of these cars you just never see on the road. I hope to see more of them in the future.

Black 2

Liberty VIP hosted their second annual Black event at Raceway Park’s Fall Nationals. There was a nice showing of cars despite the weather. Low and slow, bagged or static, flush or tucked. Take your pick, they had it all. For the winners of the show, they got to take some of the more interesting trophies that I’ve seen at a car show. Enjoy the pictures!

Blood and Grease

Straight out of the custom car culture, Blood & Grease has made a huge impression since its original debut in August. Keeping to their roots, they only sold shirts at automotive gathers for the first month, ultimately waiting until September to launch their full web store and open up sales to the rest of the public.

The Blood & Grease clothing brand was established by a compilation of influences of cultures, ranging amongst automotive, music, extreme sports, and/or any individual that is dedicated to survive on the boundaries that are sustainable by both blood, and grease.

The entire ‘B&G’ brand, feel, and style was something that was put in the hands of AutoLife Tour host and AVSS car designer, Aaron Vaccar.  The products are of the highest quality, distributed in limited edition quantities and will be considered highly desirable amongst exclusivity seekers.

Baltimore Grand Prix

Labor Day weekend, my buddy Kevin hit the streets of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor for the Baltimore Grand Prix. Racing on actual city streets always makes for a more exciting event compared to races held on the track. Sadly their media department isn’t quite as organized as you would think but we tried to get some quality photos for you guys despite the limited track access. Anyways, click the photos above to jump to the gallery.

Wekfest Chicago

Photos By: Brian Chin

It was literally a last minute decision for me to make the trek out to Chicago for Wekfest. After getting nagged at by my fellow peers, I bit the bullet and took off from my day job and hopped in a open seat in the Unique Auto Squad/ New Image Motorsports caravan from New Jersey to Chicago. 16 hours later and a handfull of 5 hour energy drinks, the cars finally made it. With no time to spare, the cars got cleaned up and prepped for the show the following day. Luckily for everyone, the event took place indoors. During roll-in, I watched everyone outside cleaning their cars just to have a monsoon roll through and undo everything they’ve been working so hard on, but once inside the convention center, you can see smiles across everyones faces. The quality of cars there were top notch. I always say, when building cars, it’s always about the attention to details that set you apart from everyone else and these guys really made the best effort they can. Anyways, click on the photos above to go to the gallery. Enjoy!
