Well for all of you disappointed drag race/car show fans in Atlanta, the NOPI event is still being held on Sept. 20th and 21st……….it won’t be run by NOPI thoough. Motorsport Nationals is still holding their show as many of you already know but what I don’t think many of you know is that there WILL be drag racing.
The good people at Polyphony Digital are giving GT fans a nice little treat in the form of Gran Turismo TV updates. Some of it is free and some of it is pay-per-view and includes UK’s Top Gear tv show and Best Motoring.
And here are some quick notes Sony put up on their blog:
For the first two weeks only, we are providing all pay-per-view content for at a discounted price of $.99! It’s a good way to get a taste Gran Turismo TV. The HD content we shoot for our exclusive stuff looks pretty amazing. Following the initial two-week period, content will start at $1.99. So start downloading away!
Be sure to check the full content list for a full content list, as we will be adding new programs on a regular basis.
Gran Turismo TV will also include new features that allow viewers to fast forward, rewind, and move between chapters when viewing video content.
Viewers can download up to 8 episodes simultaneously and pause individual downloads.
Oh and did I mention the gameplay updates like more tire choices and adjustments to penalty adjustments and colissions with online races. It looks like they’ve been listening to people in the forum so if you have any suggestions:
That’s right! For $12.99 you too can run a crap load of tests on your car with just your iPhone.
We’ve all seen various gadgets that are supposed to allow you to do 1/4 mile runs, lateral G tests and dyno runs and this one is no different except for it’s relatively cheap cost. Obviously, environmental factors will get in the way of it’s accuracy but it would still be cool to test out. Allegedly, it works pretty well…..or better than you would expect for $12.99
Any takers?

No Rhys won’t be drifting this coupe next year but it IS his official show car for this year’s SEMA show.
I could tell you all about the RMR turbo kit it’s getting and it’s sequential transmission but I think most of us will be more interested if this car see some track time.
Well, the guys at Speedhunters.com are truly doing it up living that fast life. As you can tell from the picture on the left my man Antonio is livin it up in my dream car, 911 GT2 (Lucky Bastard). I did race against one on the street back in the day with my supra and of course I gave it a whoop-ass but to have a production car with over 500+hp out the box it truly deserves a thumbs up! On Saturday, Hot Import Night’s Nightshift series stopped off at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville, TN to shake things up once more for the South before the show moves back West. As always, some of the hottest cars and even hotter models were on scene for the crowds to check out. Drift demos were performed late into the evening by teams from both North Carolina, and Tennessee, while the main stage was occupied by a few of Nashville’s finest musicians. You gotta have more cowbell! Check the jump for the full gallery of coverage. jump to gallery Continue reading ‘HIN’s Nightshift Gets Crazy In Nashville’
Well that was quick! One profitable track day weekend for NJ Motorsports Park and Team Pro-Motion (TPM) gets the title of “Official Motorcycle School and Trackday Provider”. I must say that TPM’s ART Basic school is definitely top notch for the trackday newbie. We’ll see how many days TPM has in their lineup for next year on this track.
Jalopnik has an interesting article about Ethanol Boosting Systems (EBS). Apparently this company is working on turbocharged gas engines that use pure Ethanol to put down torque curves similar to turbo diesel trucks! And there’s rumors that EBS is already talking to Ford about getting more of these available.
No this isn’t a modified Elise from Tony Stark’s fictional company (even though I wish it was). Stark Automotive’s is actually selling Elises with K20A motors pre-installed or you can have them do a motor swap into your existing Elise.
Stark’s Elise is actually a base Elise with Type-R motor modified to your exact specs which is nice. I’m not a big fan of the color but it does get attention. The price is $53,000 which isn’t bad but if you know how to do your own motor swaps, your wallet would probably be happier if you did it yourself.
I remember hearing the news that New Jersey was getting its own racetrack. To say I was excited is a huge understatement. Then, when I heard the same people who designed VIR were designing it, I felt the heavens open up, God Himself pat me on the back and proclaim, “This one’s for you, buddy!” as Him and I exchange jumping high fives.
