SEMA 2007: Impressions from a Newb (part tres)

Rich's Manicure

Alright, so the final day that I actually walked around was on Thursday. This was also the same day that I went to the product presentation at Slacker (you can read about that here), so it’ll be short and sweet:

  • Autopage had a gorgeous asian beauty in safari shorts. Ahh the jungle never looked so good.
  • Fiyah Car of the Moment is the GT570R Mustang (at that moment it was)
  • So Hot

  • Willie from the TEIN booth has schooled me on the correct pronunciation of their name: teyn
  • Hyper Green Saturn Sky in the Performance Auto & Sound Magazine booth is REAL hot. I almost missed the fact that it was a Sky Prototype with a V8 engine.
  • Jenny Chui is even better looking in person.
  • 5 Axis’ Monopod Yaris is sick!
  • The Formula D 350 Convertible is pretty hot.
  • No matter what anyway does to modify the new Sentra; they can’t make it look good.
  • The Altima Coupe, on the other hand, is the sh*t with some rips and a lip kit.

SEMA 2007: Impressions from a Newb (part deux)

sema who is sheWednesday the first thing I wrote down was, “I feel like O’Shea Jackson (Ice Cube)….today was a good day.”

We went to the Formula D Conference in the morning and immediately after it was the NHRA Announcement. Everyone pretty much knows about the NHRA and NOPI at this point. I can’t say I’m a big fan of NOPI’s non-racing segments but that’s just me.

Anyway, here are some interesting happenings of the day:

  • Yokohama had a World Touring Car Champ signing autographs in their booth. Unfortunately, only me and like 5 other people seem to care.
  • The Bulletproof Aumotive S2000 in the Toyo booth is probably one of the hottest S2K’s I’ve ever seen.
  • You can debate about Toyo tires all day long but their models are on point.
  • Kumho’s model is extremely cute. I want to take her home and wife her up.
  • Why are 80% of the models here so skinny???
  • Michelin’s booth has some of the hottest stock & race cars here: R8….sick, Porsche GT3…sick, Porsche LeMans…sick
I’m sure you can see the theme here
  • The Pearl White CL in the Zenetti booth is hot and I’m not a big Mercedes fan at all.
  • The Callos Racing NSX is hot and brings new life to a car that is getting alittle up in the years.
  • CCE Wheels has hot models as well, sema callos racing
  • But what’s with all of the T and not alot of A

Slacker’s Portable Player - Preview: Can it really change the game up?

“Change the game up”

That’s a statement that is made by many rappers and car manufacturers throughout the years and now we can add Slacker to the list. If you have never heard of Slacker you can check out their website, slacker.com, but in short it is an internet radio website similar to Last.fm or Pandora. They are all based on the idea that you choose an artist and then it gives you songs that it thinks you will like. You can then tweak it by eliminating what you don’t like and marking the ones you do like. Continue reading ‘Slacker’s Portable Player - Preview: Can it really change the game up?’

SEMA Eye Candy

So let’s pretend that I wasn’t a part of Speed Lounge but a buyer for some import performance store called Speed Shop X. I as a buyer goes to SEMA to see the new products that I can potentially sell at a store. With as big as SEMA is it’s pretty hard to weed out the products with the exception that each hall pertains to a certain part of the after market industry. I do know that the store needs to pick up more tire and wheel products so I head over to the South Hall labeled as Tire/Wheel. Overall SEMA is just too overwhelming and the huge crowd doesn’t make it any better. I walk down each aisle searching but I get distracted… Why??? Scroll down and find out! (note: please note that these pics were taken strictly for editorial purposes & any fun that looks like it may have taken place is purely for the sake of realism)

SEMA 2007: Impressions from a Newb (part 1)

noah halloween 2007This is your early warning, I don’t pull punches and I don’t blow smoke. I went to the SEMA show for the first time and I immediately started writing things down so I wouldn’t forget. For part 1 I’m going to just put up the notes I wrote down throughout the day as everyone and their mother has written about the show already. So here we go: Continue reading ‘SEMA 2007: Impressions from a Newb (part 1)’
